POWER Collaborative Network

On November 1, 2000, the POWER Collaborative Network began to help increase quality partnerships for delivering greater local human service efficiencies in and around the South Los Angeles area. Its work has since expanded throughout the County of Los Angeles, thus, the acronym ‘P O W E R’ stands for “Promoting Opportunities with Essential Resources.” (more…)

April 2013

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported April’s payroll employment increased by 165,000 new jobs, lowering the unemployment rate from 7.6% to 7.5%.  A breakdown by ethnicity of the April unemployment rate show Asians 5.1%, blacks 13.2%, Hispanics 9%, whites 6.7% and the teenager’s unemployment rate is 24.1%$.
